What It Covers

What JeffsFlix keeps about you, why, and for how long. It covers My JeffsFlix on the web, the My JeffsFlix app for iPhone and iPad, and the request portal.

What JeffsFlix Keeps

  • Plex account: its name, username and email address, as Plex shares them with JeffsFlix, and any email address you confirm in My JeffsFlix.
  • What you watch: each play, with the title, when it started, how long you watched, the device and app, the network address it came from, and the town or region that address belongs to. The town comes from a database of network addresses, so it's approximate.
  • Signing in: when you sign in to My JeffsFlix, from what network address and which browser or app.
  • Requests: what you request, your invite requests and the names and email addresses you give in them, and whether the weekly email is on.
  • Questions to Usher: what you asked and the answer.

Why

To run JeffsFlix for you: to show you your history and your year, to handle your requests and tell you when they're ready, to keep the server working well, and to keep a record of who signed in and when.

How Long

  • Plays, sign-ins and requests: for as long as JeffsFlix runs.
  • Questions to Usher: 90 days.
  • Encrypted nightly backups of everything: 180 days.

Usher

When you ask Usher something, your question, your first name and the parts of your JeffsFlix record needed to answer it go to an AI model reached through Cloudflare, with a request that they not be kept. Usher never sees your email address.

Who Sees It

Jeff, who runs JeffsFlix. Cloudflare hosts JeffsFlix and sends its email, and you sign in with Plex. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else.

Choices

In My JeffsFlix, under Account, you can change or remove your email address and turn the weekly email off. To see what's kept about you, or to have it removed, contact support.
